I sat thinking of how Bill O’Reilly only the night before had tried to dismiss a story only because it was found on the internet. His co-anchor reminded him of some of the breaking stories that came from the internet and were missed entirely by all other media sources. He coalesced to his cohort but in a condescending manner. I still think Bill may have missed the point.

It is easy to understand that the Apostle James was referring to what comes out of a man when he said “Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?” (James 3:11) Yet, it is still hard to imagine a fountain that can bubble up with clear fresh water at times, and bitter poisonous slime at others, until you discover the internet.

The same internet that was used to raise millions of dollars for the Obama campaign now is being used to haunt the President with questions about his missing documents and now the use of a Connecticut social security number that makes no sense for a person who never resided in Connecticut a day in his life.

Major newspapers going online just to survive and the deep rift that is forming between state sponsored media and independent journalism that just wants to tell it like it is, makes the internet look like the only true breakthrough media left in the nation. The day when a story was legitimized only when it made it to the evening TV newscast is becoming a thing of the past.

The success of internet news organizations like Breitbart which recently published a Krauthammer piece that boldly asserts that the Obama administration is “lawless” to the much maligned World Net Daily that broke the story of the Presidents Connecticut social security number is just in time for a world moving as fast as it is today. This is not news with a slant it is news that points in all directions and allows the readers to decide. It is water seeking its own level without the teaspoon of sugar to make the medicine go down.

The double-sided nature of the Internet is feared by those who don’t want every detail to be known but rather than being something to fear it is something that is inevitable. It is information finally discovering the place where the rivers change direction across the great divide. Not much you can do about that except to decide which side you are going to live on.

Emails gave way to chat rooms which gave way to blogs which gave way to social sites which gave way to ad infinitum. You can find church services on the web or sleazy porn sites that make you want to throw up. You can find nonsense of every kind including You Tube type video sites that would take five lifetimes to view if you didn’t take time to eat or sleep.

The internet is banned or regulated in some countries but in America it is the great lost and found of our generation. You can get lost in it or use it to find truths that can never be fully covered in the evening news with a few sound bites and the need to go to commercials.

For people who have integrity and still take the time to discern between what is urgent and what is actually important; the internet can be a place to find, as in the words of the late Paul Harvey, “the rest of the story.”

http://www.americanprophet.org has since 2005 featured the articles of Rev Michael Bresciani along with news and reviews that have earned this site the title of The Website for Insight Millions have read his timely reports and articles in online journals and print publications across the nation and the globe.

The Internet is the largest set of computer networks that use the Internet Protocol. The invention and development of the Internet was the biggest discovery by mankind in the 20th century that lead to a revolution. Today, the Internet is used by more than 50% of the world population as its applications are found in nearly every fields of life: be it communication, knowledge, news, shopping, marketing, entertainment, education, etc. Here we will see more on the importance or advantages of the Internet in education. So how exactly does the Internet technology benefit the students for education? Let us take a look at it in detail.

Advantages of Using Internet with Education

The fast and relatively low cost access is one of the major benefits of Internet to people and students all over the world as getting an Internet connection is easy. Communication and information are the two most important advantages of the Internet in education. Secondly, information can be updated or modified at any time and for any number of times, which helps in learning and better understanding. Let us take a look at the role of computers in education.

Easy Contact
As mentioned above, communication is one of the biggest advantages of the Internet in education. Students can contact other students or their teachers via the E-mail if they have queries about any information. Sharing of information, discussions on a particular subject, etc. can be easily carried out using the Internet. At the same time, teachers can also contact the parents and guardians easily using Internet.

School / College Projects
The Internet can be most useful for completing projects in schools and colleges. As the Internet is an ocean of information, covering nearly all subjects known to man, one can literally find information, research work, etc. required for one’s projects. Going through the information on the Internet is definitely faster than reading an entire book on the subject. Homework is also made easier with the help of the Internet which is also one of the important use of computers in education.

Encyclopedia
Sometimes, encyclopedia may not always be available to students and they may have difficulty in gaining access to the books in the library. In that case, the encyclopedia of different subjects available on the Internet can be helpful. This is more useful for students who belong to communities not having English as their mother tongue. Kids and younger children can also be benefited by the Internet by using the pictures, videos, etc. which is one of the major advantages when thinking of textbooks versus computer teaching.

News
All the latest news are constantly updated on the Internet on different news sites which is one of the major advantages of the Internet in education. Students, learning politics, can have an access to all the current affairs through the Internet in the school campus, at home, or at any other place. Historical accounts like speeches, biographies, etc. are also easily available on the Internet in detailed and accurate versions. This is one of the biggest use of Internet in education.

Online Learning
Another positive effects of Internet in education is the onset of distance education or online learning. With this facility, you can take up short term courses with the course material available online, learn and give exams. One of the benefits of online learning is that people from any part of the world can gain knowledge on different subjects, complete courses, etc. with the help of online learning.

With these points, we find that the importance of Internet in education cannot be denied and hence, every student should be given access to the Internet for deeper understanding and knowledge of a subject. However, lots and lots of information can be termed as both, advantages and disadvantages of the Internet as students can also have an access to unwanted or unethical information and sites. Therefore, it is only wise for parents to make students understand what is good and what not for them or keep a watch on their surfing.

These were some of the advantages of the Internet in education. Lastly, although the Internet cannot replace books or classroom education, it is one of the best substitute for those who wish to gain deeper knowledge on literally every subject. Good luck!

e Internet is a powerful liberalizing tool that has changed the way the world functions. One of the biggest Internet facts is that the borders between countries have been rendered useless in certain scenarios, and the transfer of data and information has become as simple as it gets. There is a growing concern that the Internet technology is beginning to get segregated today, with the whole debate about net neutrality making that clear, but in the meantime there is still plenty to enjoy about this wonderful power.

In most developed nations, Internet penetration and Internet access runs as deep as 75%, which means that a majority of the people are online. In developing nations and third world countries, the situation is not so bright. But the point is that this number is only going to rise further in all countries around the world, and pretty soon every single individual in the world can be connected to the world wide web.
